Tom Rivet becomes the latest member of the Soccer Academy staff to receive the prestigious Larry Briggs Award, joining fellow camp directors Ron Dias (2010 recipient) and John Coburn (1995 recipient). The Pioneer Valley Soccer Association presents the award annually to an individual who exemplifies the high standards and contributions to soccer over a long period of time. Coach Rivet received the award at the PCSOA banquet on December 2, 2011.
The award is named after Larry Briggs who is recognized by many as the “Father of Soccer Officiating.” He was the long time coach of the men’s soccer team at the University of Massachusetts.
